How’s your week going?

Mine is pretty busy. Had a lot of work to do here and there.

I haven’t even posted as many poems as I wanted to this week, but I’ll try to post something later today or tomorrow.

I noticed something while I was writing a chapter of my novel.

I think most people are aware that the way screenplays/scripts are written is way different from novels.

Simple present tense—mostly used in screenplays

Simple past tense—commonly used in novel writing.

I kept using simple present tenses, and by the time I realized it, I’d written about three—maybe four—paragraphs.

Have you ever had that sort of thing happen to you?

You don’t have to be a screenwriter to write in simple present tense, but has there been a time you got lost writing that story, and by the time you realized what you’ve written, you’ve gone so far in the story?

Note that you can also use simple present tense in novel writing; you just have to maintain consistency all through the book.
