The executive chairman of Potiskum local government area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, has taken the responsibility of training 200 women in handicrafts, supporting them with cash as start-up capital to boost the businesses and economy and create a better society.

This is in line with the chairman's intention to ensure that Potiskum local government area stands on its feet in the areas of economy, trade, health, education and livestock so that the growth of business will create jobs and improve the lives of youth across the local government area and yobe state.

The Chairman sponsored the training of 200 women, all of whom are now successful entrepreneurs with full capital and self-reliance, who are able to create jobs for their fellow women and improve the lives of their families and the good people of Potiskum Local Government Area.

One of the beneficiaries of this business support and creative training, Aishatu Usman, who lives in Nahuta, Potiskum Local Government Area, confirmed that I am living a safe life and earning an income and being self-reliant following the training I received in creating perfumes. Now, the perfumes I made are being transported and sold in different markets across Yobe State.

"Under me, many married and single women are now employed because I have at least 7 employees who depend on me under this business that I learnt as a result of the sponsorship by the executive chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari." Said Aishatu Usman Nahuta

Providing jobs for women will improve child-rearing, combat domestic violence and promote social stability in the Potiskum local government area.
