The once-abandoned Potiskum Local Government Area's Government Lodge is now in the final stages of reconstruction, marking a major step in the restoration of a place that has been in ruins for decades.
Under the leadership of Potiskum Local Government Area's Chairman Hon. Salisu Muktari, the project has become a symbol of renewal and commitment to good governance.
The project is more than just a project to provide infrastructure; it is the realization of a dream that began in the 1990s. At that time, both Hon. Salisu Muktari and His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni, as councilors in their respective local governments, envisioned the revival of the Lodge.
This vision, carried in their hearts for over three decades, is now coming to fruition as the process nears completion.
Local residents and stakeholders have praised the project, describing it as a fulfillment of a long-awaited promise and a demonstration of perseverance, progress, and meaningful leadership.
They believe that once completed, the building will not only be a fitting center for governance but also a reminder of how dedication and perseverance can bring about long-held aspirations.
By pushing the reconstruction project to this stage, Hon. Muktari has reconnected Potiskum’s character with its past while laying a strong foundation for future governance, the initiative being seen as a practical achievement and a symbolic legacy.
From Vision to Legacy—A Promise Fulfilled.
The photos attached below capture the full extent of the reconstruction of the Lodge, showing how a dream conceived in the 1990s is now a reality.
