Potiskum Communities Applaud Gov. Buni, Hon. Salisu Muktari, and NEDC for Life-Changing Roads and Bridges

The people of Tandari, Lailai, Bayan Kara, Jigawa, and Mazaga communities in Potiskum LGA have expressed deep gratitude and admiration to His Excellency, Hon. (Dr.) Mai Mala Buni, CON, the North East Development Commission (NEDC), and the Executive Chairman of Potiskum LGA, Hon. Salisu Muktari, for delivering strategic road and bridge projects that will transform daily life and economic activities across the area.
The communities described the projects as historic and impactful, noting that the new roads and bridges will connect over 5,000 residents to schools, health facilities, farmlands, and markets, ending decades of isolation and hardship—especially during the rainy season when movement was almost impossible.
According to community leaders, the interventions will significantly improve school attendance, ease access to healthcare, boost agricultural productivity, and expand small- and medium-scale businesses, thereby strengthening local economies and enhancing social well-being.
The people commended Gov. Buni for his unwavering commitment to inclusive development and post-insurgency recovery, stressing that the projects reflect his administration’s resolve to ensure that no community is left behind in Yobe State’s development journey.
Special appreciation was extended to Hon. Salisu Muktari for his visionary, responsive, and people-focused leadership, which the communities said played a decisive role in attracting the NEDC interventions to Potiskum, and described him as a leader who listens, engages, and delivers results that directly impact the grassroots.
The communities also applauded the NEDC, under the leadership of Mohammed Goni Alkali, for remaining committed to rebuilding critical infrastructure and restoring hope across the Northeast, in alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
They also pledged their full support to the governor, the executive chairman, and the NEDC, while assuring collective ownership and protection of the projects, which they described as not just roads and bridges but pathways to education, health, and economic prosperity.
