be a bird
[By Abdulrauf]
the bird does not complain about
little wings. the sky is wide & the
bird does not fret 'bout provision.
& when everywhere is quiet, the bird
sings songs as a nightingale, & its
echoes boomerang—a rhythm to the
butts of the leaves in the wild forest.
& freedom is another name for a bird—
translating its thoughts through the
whispers of winds. see, just be a bird—
see how life unfolds into rest of mind.
& if a provision is in the depth of the
sea, the eagle frets not to delve, hook
the pret & rises skyward to perform the
last rite. say: life as a bird is a wonder!
you need not to log head with anyone,
just you & your wings—penetrating the
space in pace & things falling in places.
