Title: OZODIMGBA THE GIANT WARRIOR.
Standing twenty feet tall, he towers, with broad shoulders and twenty four phalanges, his six toes and six fingers on each leg and hand, makes an indelible imprints on the land of Amuzuu ancient kingdom; Ozodimgba a ferocious giant, a warrior cum human beast, fearless and brutal. He uproots palm trees with his bare hands, with a jump, he swings on the Irokos and the mahogany alike breaking off branches with a snap. He voice roars like a thunderstorm, his footsteps a deafening sound than the traditional talking drum.
Every Morning when he wakes up, he uproot a Palm 🌴 Tree to sweep the entire village walk ways in the land of Amuzuu, a task he embarks daily within the wee hours of the morning before any man wakes.
The Sound of his name trembles the heart of Men across all the lands that borders with Amuzu ancient kingdom. Despite his height and weight, Ozodimgba is fast and furious with an exceptional swiftness that's nothing less than supernatural. He had lead the people of Amuzuu to several victories, king Edey's reign was peaceful and prosperous because of the intercession of Ozodimgba in many crucial matters. He hunts among the wilds, Gozillas, Hippos, Crocodiles, Lions and Leopards we're among his famous catch.
Ozodimgba had Mystic Powers, he is a typical Ogbanje with supernatural abilities. On one faithful morning, Ngene River turned bloody together with the Ozasi fountain that forms the source, decending from the top of Agogo hills to the Ngene river. By this incident, the land of Amuzuu was thrown into dismay and panic.
Through the mouth of Ijele, the one eye old sorceress that lived in the ancient Agoo cave at the foot of Agogo hills, the required remedy to upturn this ugly events will be the blood of a white crocodiles mixed with the egg of Gorillaz, a rare sacrifice required by the river goddess. A near impossible task for the mere mortals of Amuzuu indigenes. Not only was the requirements high to get, a man is also required to go into the bloody looking water to offer the sacrifice; a voluntary journey to the land of no return.
Twenty one days after the requirement for the appeasement was made known, Ozodimgba returned from his journey, a dangerous quest that can't be embarked twice by any mortal, with him was a white crocodile tied hand, tail and mouth, and on his head was a moon size egg, the egg of a Gorillaz, the whole town went into celebration and jubilations as he make his way to the King's palace.
The next day, the sacrifice was prepared at the village square, prepared in a Calabash and placed at the center of the village square; now the last difficult task is waiting to be fulfilled, it is required for a man to voluntarily carry the Calabash into the river, a journey of no return that is obvious to all. The Calabash have been set since morning and the noon passed without a volunteer, more importantly to note is that the Calabash is not supposed to seat at the village square till Dawn otherwise it will be null and void and will require a fresh catch to start all over again.
Ozodimgba not minding his royal linage, his exalted status as the strongest man of his time, decided to embark on the journey to save his people from the impending calamity. There was mixed reactions among the people of Amuzuu as Ozodimgba humbly stoop down to carry the Calabash, the people of Amuzuu are going to miss him dearly, both the poor widows and the peasant farmers he help to till their land with tip of his toes will forever be in need of his selfless services, with his demise the land of Amuzuu will become porous and vunerable again, with all the enemies surrounding them, it will not be too long for Amuzuu to be under captive. Dressed with white scarf on his head and red apron tied to his waist he made his way to Ngene River.
Three days have passed without Ozodimgba's return, the news of his demise had already spread across the border, when the news reached the people of Fufulani there was Joy and jubilations, a ram was killed and barbecued with the local Brukutu gin served, both young and old ate and drank in merriment as they plan their their next launch of attack on the people, Amuzuu kingdom, a must capture for the people of Fufulanis.
At the center of Ngene river, standing face to face before the beautiful mermaid of Ngene, with his catlike eyes Ozodimgna fearlessly bargains for his life, as supernaturally endowed as Ozodimgba was, just like the cat, he has nine lives, this he sacrificed eight to Ngene river goddess so that she might allow him to return to his people and fulfill his destiny as the heir apparent to the ancient throne of Amuzuu.
His request was granted at the wee hours of the seventh day, as the waters of the river became sparkling white again, Ozodimgba surfaced back at the edge of Ngene river. Gently he took his steps back home, two kilometers from Amuzuu town, Ozodimgba could see flames going up, distant cries and shouting he heard, in a leap of two to three steps he was at the village square; the Fufulanis are attacking Amuzuu again, furious in anger he waged in and began a massacre, his reappearance buffered the courage of the people of Amuzuu and at the same time dwindled the bravery of the Fufulanis, within forty-five minutes of his engagement in the war, Victory was achieved for the people of Amuzuu.
The people of Amuzuu gathered with joy and songs of praise was sang on his behalf as a Godman who has returned from the land of the spirit to save his people.
Two weeks after his triumphant return, his Majesty Eze Ogodo 1 Amuzuu ancient kingdom passed on, Ozodi and Akirika was his only two heir, both born on the same day but Ozodi was born first.
Preparation for the coronation of the next King was at top gear, both Ozodimgba and Akirika was separated into isolation in preparation for the coronation. On that faithful coronation day, the People we're joyful seated, foods and drinks already in surplus waiting to be devoured as soon the next King is crowned. Majority of Amuzuu people were happy that Ozodimgba will be crowned their king, to them there's no other better way to appreciate Ozodimgba for all the things he had done for Amuzuu ancient kingdom other than crowning him the Ogodigidi the second of Amuzuu ancient kingdom.
The stage was set, the kingmakers assembled in their ranks, the throne majestically positioned under the Onugoto ancient tree, Ozodimgba and Akirika was called out, both kneeling before the King's makers.
Ozoemena who is the head of the Ozos, the kingmakers; raised up the royal Sceptre, the ancient mystical rod that confirms and determines who seats on the throne by resting on the shoulder of the chosen. On the shoulder of Ozodimgba, the Sceptre keeps falling off, to the amazement of the people, and according to the tradition, a three times repetition solidifies the answer, after the third time, the Sceptre was moved to Akirika, behold at the first lay it stayed, and remained till the third time.
An elderly man who was the eldest among men came out to explain what really happened. According to his story, and based on the tradition of the people of Amuzuu ancient kingdom, if two children are born on the same day and possible within the same period of time, he who cries first is regarded the elder irrespective of he who came out of the womb first. And this was the case of Ozodimgba, history has it that he was born on the early hours of the day but couldn't cry until dawn but Akirika his brother was born at noon and he cried the moment he was born.
So furious he was and not able to contend with the public humiliation and seeing his younger brother rule over him as the King, Ozodimgba couldn't not win the war against Rage and Anger rattling within him, the following morning, a grievous history was made, too pathetic was the scene as no single soul was seen alive in the royal household including the newly crowned king, both old and young lying in the pool of their own blood. The land of Amuzu was thrown into commotion, heavy grief and mourning.
Ozodimgba's gigantic foot prints were traced to Agogo hills the next morning, but more terrific it was that the Agogo hills in Amuzu has changed into a big Mountain overnight. At the feet of Agogo hills Ozodimgba ended it all.
As strong and mighty as he was, who have had fought many battles and won all to his credit, could not win the war against Anger. A little monster within him that he fails to tame, at the end became the assailant that took away his life.
