The Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, is steadily transforming the Rugar Fulani–Nahuta axis in Potiskum through a strategic infrastructure project that is already improving connectivity and daily life across the corridor.

The ongoing development linking T-Junction to Rugar Fulani and extending to Nahuta features the construction of a modern asphalt road, a durable bridge connecting neighboring communities, and a well-engineered drainage system designed to mitigate flooding.

Even before completion, the project is making a noticeable difference; previously neglected and often inaccessible during the rainy season, sections of the route are now becoming motorable, easing movement and reconnecting residents to key services and economic activities.

For years, communities along the corridor faced serious challenges due to poor infrastructure, which limited access to markets, schools, and healthcare facilities; the ongoing intervention is gradually reversing this situation, opening up the area and creating a more reliable transport network.

In addition, the earlier electrification of Rugar Fulani has marked a major milestone, bringing power supply to the community for the first time; combined with the road and drainage works, the development is positioning the area for improved livelihoods and sustained economic growth.

The project is being executed by Bomai Engineering Construction Company (BECC) under the supervision of the Yobe State Ministry of Works, ensuring adherence to quality standards and long-term durability.

This intervention is timely and impactful, noting that it is already enhancing mobility, boosting local trade, and restoring confidence in governance.

The Potiskum project is part of a broader statewide initiative aimed at upgrading infrastructure across all 17 local government areas, with particular focus on communities that have long been underserved.

As work continues, Gov. Buni’s administration is reinforcing its commitment to inclusive development—turning neglected routes into functional corridors and laying the groundwork for sustainable progress across Yobe State.
