ON MY NEED TO BELIEVE

On my need to believe,
I was lead,
I was played.

Belief does not necessarily make it so.
What we most often call belief is a change of our perception.

Those with genuine minds are always played over by the ingenuine at heart.
For the same measure of belief we give to the truth is the same measure given to that not true.
So, many ingenuine minds play over the genuine.

While belief in the truth makes one better, belief in that which is deception, manipulation makes one sorrowful, regretful.

Thus, belief can mar or make us.
Belief does not make it so, it's our perception that makes it so.

For more important than the number of times we have fallen victim to deception, manipulation is fast and strong we resolve, amend and move on.
We can't continue believing all and can't keep doubting all.

Reading this poem made me reflect on how our beliefs can be so easily manipulated by others' false narratives. It’s a powerful reminder to always question and verify what we’re believing. The imagery of being played over by ingenuine minds really hits home. This makes me appreciate even more the importance of discernment in today's fast-paced world where information is abundant but often misleading. I guess the key takeaway is to stay vigilant and continue seeking truth with an open yet critical mind.
