I dreamt of a home of peace and rest,
Where love and harmony are forever best.
But war and strife, they seem to prevail,
Leaving humanity neglected, with no sail.
Security is thwarted, and fears unfold,
Where can I find a peaceful home to hold?
Where can I find human love that's true?
Where can I pour my heart, and hope anew?
I'm lost in governance, with no clear way,
My heart is at war with my soul each day.
The future looks bleak, with no hope in sight,
My soul is at war with the future's dark night.
Who will come to bury my tears and pain?
Who will secure a brighter future for the unborn to gain?
Oh, Mother Africa, come to our aid,
Life is wasted, and security's trade.
Governance and friendship, once hand in hand,
Now lost and forgotten, in a desolate land.
Where shall we find a brighter future's lead?
A future unprepared, with anxiety's dark seed.
Hopeless and despondent, life's thwarted in grief,
A sorrowful refrain, that echoes through our relief.
I pray for peace and love to reign supreme,
And a brighter future, where humanity can beam.
Dedicated to the little children of Congo at this critical moment of war
praying for peace
