OF THE RIVERS IN AFRICA
I drew nigh the Nile
A mile on the Nile
Lost at sea?
To reach the Niger belt enroute the Niger
Oh, how senescent the 'diles of the Senegal
Oh, what a foretaste of the waters of the Congo in a gong on the festival.
And in wastes lie the oranges,
washed ashore on the basins of the orange.
The Hippos' ripple in the depths and bubbling out to the surface pop pop pop popo pop pop...
And diving, swum ashore, limping out of the Limpopo
Towards me in advance
Weird or a play?
In Limbo at the Limpopo?
I beat a retreat and made away to safety under the cover of the fog
The cumulus-nimbus clouds over the Limpopo and its basin, thus far
The sunshine at noon through the cloud cover over the Limpopo and upon the waters glow at noon, reflecting purple.
Is it a rainbow?
And while flowing through infinite tributaries, international
Suddenly empties in its tributaries in the Zambezi
The basin of the four corners of the nations of the south.
