The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Zone-B Chapter commends the executive chairman of Potiskum local government area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, for repairing and providing new vehicles/buses to its members in Potiskum LGA.
They commended the efforts of the chairman during a visit to thank and show their support for the management of the chairmanship in the local government area and to emphasise their intention to give their maximum support and cooperation to the Yobe state government under the leadership of H.E. Governor Mai Mala Buni, CON, COMN.
In their visit they also confirmed that the arrival of the Chairman, Hon. Salisu Muktari, revived the dream of many of their members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) to see how he focused on the revival of government property and transportation across the Potiskum local government area.
"We said that we will come up with something that will help improve our lives and that of our people after the arrival of Hon. Salisu Muktari.
"Because before the arrival of the chairman, we neglected the transport business, some of the government assets in our Potiskum local government were forgotten. Now, with the help of the Hon. Salisu Muktari and the good contribution of our executive governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, you revived the transportation sector in Potiskum and the southern part of Yobe State Zone-B." On his part, the executive chairman emphasised and expressed his gratitude to the organisation and pointed out that the achievements were achieved as a result of the good intentions of the Yobe state government and the senator representing the area, Sen. Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai.
"We have travelled especially to provide development activities for the community of Potiskum and to develop the economy of our local government in many areas, especially those related to transportation.
"I am telling you that the main goal of our success in the transport sector in the southern part of Yobe state lies in the good policies of the Yobe state government under the leadership of His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni and the good representation of His Excellency Senator Ibrahim Mohammad Bomai.
"If we consider the kind of roads and modern buildings that have been created, we must be motivated to carry out our work, so I am dedicating all my efforts to the good people of Potiskum local government area and these two governments, because with only the support of our people and these two pillars of governments, we have achieved all these achievements."
