Take me back to laughter that never ended,
To nights that shimmered with stars uncounted.
When dawn broke slowly, and our sleep was sound,
Untroubled by the worries that tomorrow would bring.
Take me back to when love that was shared without condition was common,
When people actually cared, and hearts were open.
When mistakes were forgiven, and weren't judged,
When the nights were beautiful
And days, pleasant.
Take me back to days without responsibility,
When emotions flowed smoothly, like a river's gentle stream.
When disappointment meant missing out on a favorite toy,
Not the weight of the world, with all its complexity.
Take me back to times when life was simple "oh the good ol'days",
When family, friends, and laughter filled our days.
When we laughed, loved and lived
And the world was a beautiful, uncomplicated place.
