

National Livestock Farmers Association of Nigeria and National Butchers Association of Nigeria praised Hon. Salisu Muktari's efforts

The National Livestock Farmers Association of Nigeria and National Butchers Association of Nigeria Potiskum local government Chapter praised the Executive Chairman of Potiskum local government area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, for responding promptly to their problems in a timely manner.
This was after providing them with a sound management system by improving many aspects of the local government livestock market and slaughterhouse (abattoir) following the deterioration of several aspects.
The Potiskum Local Government Area's largest cattle market, which is among the largest in Africa, has been struggling with water shortages and soil erosion, posing a major challenge to livestock farmers in the area.
Hon. Salisu Muktari provided soil for filling and expansion, repaired old pumps and installed new solar pumps in different parts of the cattle shed to provide them with safe water and solve their water problems.
On his part, the chairman of the National Livestock Farmers Association of Nigeria Potiskum LGA Chapter, Alh. Hassan Alkali, expressed happiness over the chairman’s commitment to providing relief to livestock farmers by solving their problems promptly.
“We are very happy and commend the Chairman of this great and blessed local government area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, for accepting the invitation to solve the problems that has befallen us at the cattle market in Potiskum LGA.
"We faced a major challenges due to the shortage of water and the deterioration of the cattle loading area because the unit was dirty and deteriorated; we even started to worry about installing a motor for loading and started thinking about changing the loading system because of the challenges we are facing.
"We are very happy that the local government chairman repaired our old pumps, provided us with solar panels and provided us with sufficient and reliable red soil to fill the area where we are loading our cattle. This is not a small effort, so between us and the good leadership of this great local government are just prayers and good wishes." Said Alh. Hassan Alkali
On the Butcher's side, Alh. Ibrahim Yunusa, Chairman of the National Butchers Association of Nigeria, expressed his confidence and commended the chairman for replacing and modernising their abattoir in the Potikum Local Government Area.
"Every group should praise the chairman for his support under his administration, not like we the butchers of this local government, because of his efforts to improve the quality of the butchery industry by modernising the local government abattoir and providing us with a sound management system, adequate water supply and security through fencing of all butchery units.
"We now have a sound management system, and there are no challenges, and our abattoir is producing quality and clean meat following the improvement of this facility by the executive chairman of Potiskum local government area." Said Alh. Ibrahim Yunusa
