Hi guys,
How are you all doing?
How did you week go? Is the weekend starting off on a good note?
I had a good week though… it was just a bit slow.
Like, there’s so much to do now that I got a second scriptwriting gig.
I was so happy when I got the gig and it’s from the same person.
I am proud of myself.
Like I said in a previous post, I’ll achieve my goal as a scriptwriter. I just need to enjoy the process and let things play out.
Hard work, consistency, continuous learning, prayers and faith in GOD and the talents He blessed me with will keep me going.
I might have finished that script well but there’s still a lot I need to learn about scriptwriting and screenplay.
I mentioned that the articles from nofilmschool were really helpful and educating.
Also, there’s a book called ‘How to Write Great Screenplays and Get Them into Production’ by Linda M James. A friend of mine told me to read this book so I get more insight about screenplay and scriptwriting.
It helped when I wrote the last screenplay.
I still want to take physical classes but the location is quite far from where I stay. I’ll just have to do a little planning here so I know the next line of action to take.
Speaking of what I need to learn, I haven’t updated you guys about what went on with the screenplay I wrote last month.
I sent the script to him two Sundays ago and was anticipating his response. I was beyond nervous because that’s the first script I wrote for someone.
I only wrote a few scenes for my stories to practice what I learned.
Minutes after I sent him the script, he said he liked the premise of the script
and wanted to finish reading before getting back to me.
I was already excited but still nervously waiting on his response. I think I sent a message to him on Friday or Saturday and he said he hadn’t finished reading it but maybe on Sunday he would.
I expressed how much I was expecting his feedback and that was all for that day.
The next day, I went to meet him and he told me the script was good. He said he wasn’t able to read all but he liked the parts he read.
He also noted that I needed to work on dialogues which I am trying to improve.
He gave me another story to work on but this one will be longer than the 20-minute script he gave me last month.
I would require a lot more than two and a half weeks to have it completed and more time due to the movie duration.
I am thinking maybe two or three months to have it ready to be submitted.
I just don’t want to write just anything.
I want every scene of this movie to be meaningful in a sense that it should move the story forward.
Aside scriptwriting, I am also engaging with other writing.
I have a few stories worked up but I’m still deciding the fate of the stories and how I want to share them.
Might start a YouTube storytelling channel soon. Still have a lot to learn.
I think you guys will love what I have prepared for you all.
Thank you for reading and sticking around.
I apologize that I couldn’t write a Valentine story for this year but I might do a bit of what I did last year.
The ‘Post Valentine Story’ but instead of different stories, it might be one of my favorite characters ‘Ife and Patrick’.
It will be fun guys.
Anyways, thank you once again and I will be e-meeting you in another letter of mine or a post.
Thank you and GOD bless
