My Escape to Nowhere

It was one of those sultry November evening, where the air feels heavy, almost suffocating, a reminder of how racing through life has left me breathless.
I seek escape from the banality of existence that’s why I found myself racing many miles far from home, from all I know, the little world I have salvage through the years.
This new air seem thick and strange, indifferent to my intrusion, like it knew the burden I carry.
I hoof my breath, as mountains lined on like dominoes, confused to where my heart should wager, is it the nearby resort, the close up club as the night is nearing I could dance with a stranger our arms stroking like the ring thugging on saturn or I could sit somewhere the grass is soft and watch the sun setting.
My legs leaped towards the casino resort, maybe if I throw a die my life could change tonight. I pushed through the gleaming glass doors, the vibrant hum of the casino enveloped me like a delicate embrace. The soft glow of neon lights danced across my face, momentarily distracting me from the weight of my sorrow.
I stepped onto the plush carpet, my heels sinking into its softness. The air was thick with the sweet scent of perfume, cigar smoke, and the faint tang of desperation.
My eyes scanned the room, taking in the sea of hopeful faces, each one chasing their own dreams or escaping their demons. I felt a sense of kinship with these strangers.
I wandered through the rows of slot machines, their bright lights and cheerful melodies creating a mesmerizing spectacle. The rhythmic clinking of coins and occasional jackpot bell provided a soothing background melody.
My fingers trailed over the cool glass of a slot machine, feeling the raised patterns of luck and fortune. I inserted a bill, watching as the digital wheels spun, promising fortune or heartbreak.
With each press of the button, I feel my pain recede, replaced by the thrill of possibility. The rush of adrenaline momentarily numbed my sorrow.
For a fleeting moment, the casino’s promise of escape and transformation seduced me, offering a santuary from the pain that had driven me here.
