"Forced Marriages or Betrothed marriages", have never really been something of fancy to me because of the pecks, surrounding it.
The idea alone is not something that appeals to me, no matter how much we want to list the benefits of the idea.
Marrying for love too isn't the definition structure of a stable marriage, because there must be other attributes that are concerned.
But for the first time in forever, I actually rooted for a forced marriage to work, although it wasn't a real marriage.🫣😄
Yes, it was a marriage made just for the screen 😎
In fact, I think it's the only forced marriage that worked in the most beautiful and professional way ever.
It's culled from the Series, "Peaky Blinders"
~
"John Shelby", one of the brothers in the Shelby family and a peaky blinder, was so interested in finding a wife for his children.
He understood that, his life as a peaky blinder left him no chance to cater for his kids well, so his need for a wife increased.
Goodness!
The way he desired the blessing of Tommy was so emotional. It was like he was literally begging his brother to just make that one thing right.
As was the way of Tommy Shelby, he said nada but his plans were already on course.
First, he made the necessary effort, ruling out the choice wife of his brother, because she fell for his bait, revealing that she hadn't changed for good.
After informing his brother about how that played out, Tommy gave gave John an option to either accept it or leave it
Fast forward to another episode, Tommy arranged a wife without his brother's knowledge.
Ahhh!!!🙆🙅
A forced marriage! Or rather, a "Betrothal", as Tommy called it!😎😄
It was a marriage built, so the clans could be united forever and John was going to be the first brick laid on that foundation.
Oh my!
My heart raced, in wonder of who the bride would be!🙆🫣
Even John Shelby, warned that the bride should better be , "Below 50"😁
And few minutes later, she raised her veil and behold, She was prettier than he could have imagined.
I loved the way John's eyes lit with excitement when he first saw her and the way, he turned to smile at his brother.
He didn't have to say it but the look said, "You outdid yourself again, Tommy! That's why you're the head of the family!"🥂
