The first thing a man loses when he is looking for legal tender is a tender heart.
We are scrolling through the feed at 2:00 AM, looking at a girl dancing half-naked on TikTok just to catch a view,
But nobody is viewing the damage happening to the soul behind the ring light.
A young guy sits in a dark room with three laptops, pressing format, trying to harvest where he did not plant,
He calls it the daily grind, he calls it hustle, but it’s just a high-speed chase into a spiritual ditch.
You see a student who drops her books on Friday night to enter a luxury jeep at the school gate,
She tells herself she is just paying her way through school, but she is trading her texture for a temporal architecture.
And the moment you try to talk, the moment the word hits the conscience, everybody remembers one specific line,
They scream do not judge, they know the text but they completely ignore the texture of the life God asked us to live.
We are busy gathering the paper, but we are losing the very breath that makes us human.
Mama named me Segun Omo Baba Iwasanmi, I am The Man With The Story,
And I am standing here as the Master Archer because I see how the arrows of this modern hustle are piercing our identity.
We are rich in things, our bank accounts are fat, but our peace is currently on life support.
You see a politician who stands on the stage with a sweet tongue, making promises that can melt butter,
But the moment he gets the key to the vault, he forgets that the people who voted are sleeping with one eye open because of bandits.
They don't care if the streets are bleeding, they only care about the currency, forgetting that the current see how the poor are crying to heaven.
