Mariners' Psalm (Anchor of My Soul)

I am a lost ship in the vast, deep, black sea,
Guided by the waves of fate
Toward a safe shore.
He is my lighthouse...
No matter how far I drift from Him,
In Him shall I always find my fix.

Like a vessel not under command,
I sway, I heave, I yaw, I roll, I surge, and pitch...
Yet I will never run aground,
For I trust my Anchor;
He secures me firmly to His heart.

He holds my life’s chart,
The best passage planner.
Though I alter course,
He knows my track...
He knows my destination.

When the tempest rages wild and mad,
Laugh not—my Helmsman never sleeps.
And my Thruster is strong and sure.
When the storm climbs high,
Rejoice not—my Hawsers are thick and new.
I shall not sink, nor run aground,
For my Anchor is Jesus.

The metaphor here is really strong. It’s like facing life as a lost ship at sea with a steadfast lighthouse guiding you through the storm. The poem definitely resonates on so many levels, especially about finding strength in those who truly care and the guidance we seek when things get rough.

Yeah, mate, lost at sea can be rough, but knowing there's a steady anchor means you're never truly alone.
