Nestled in the heart of Malindi, Falconry of Kenya provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity to engage with some of the world’s most majestic birds of prey. Established in 1990, this center is both a sanctuary and a breeding ground for raptors, helping rehabilitate injured birds and raise awareness about the importance of conservation.
🦉 A Closer Look at the Birds
The highlight of a visit to Falconry of Kenya is the chance to observe over 100 birds, including hawks, eagles, falcons, and owls. Many of these birds have been rescued from the wild after sustaining injuries, while others are part of breeding programs aimed at preserving these fascinating species. Visitors can learn about their habitats, behaviors, and the conservation efforts in place to protect them.
One of the most exciting aspects of the visit is the opportunity to interact with these birds, from holding a falcon on your arm to watching them in action during flight demonstrations. It's an educational yet thrilling experience that is sure to impress both children and adults.

While the birds are the main attraction, Falconry of Kenya also houses a variety of other wildlife, making it a mini zoo of sorts. Here, you'll find crocodiles, monkeys, tortoises (including a 200-year-old giant tortoise), snakes like green mambas and pythons, as well as monitor lizards. Each species has its own story, and the staff is more than willing to share their knowledge about the animals’ behaviors and conservation status.
