"Malaika" is a word in Yoruba meaning, "Angel". The movie focuses on a spiritual voyage that encapsulates pain, the challenges of childlessness, anger, and the joy of motherhood.
The movie "Malaika" is a depiction of the struggle of what women face in the society in the struggle on the journey to conceive and fight against barrenness. It's addresses societal misunderstanding and hurtful remarks from those who lack a genuine understanding of some women's pain as portrayed by Toyin Abraham's step daughter Chichi.
The movie revolved around two central characters" Toyin Abraham and Emeka Ike".
Toyin Abraham display her dexterity in her stunning performance by effortlessly converying different emotions from vulnerability to strength with great finesse.
She struggles with the inability to bare a child due to miscarriages and anger towards his step daughter and employees. Her blaming the husband since he his a doctor is what any woman in her condition would do. But with the support of her friend, she embarks on a transformative spiritual expedition to unravel the mystery behind her inability to bare a child.
The journey was a beginning of a turn around for her because she was told, "Seeds don't grow where the soil is heated," offering a profound message for everyone especially women.
Her change of attitude towards her step daughter and employees shows a woman who would do anything to bare a child and she demonstrated it by rescuing her step daughter even to the point of almost losing her life.
Emeka Ike on the other hand, portrayed a talented actor who showcase his role as he brought his character to the screen. His emotions and experience were on spot, allowing the audience to connect with his journey throughout the movie.
From the very beginning, he captivated the audience with his charm and charisma, making us invest in his character's development. His maturity in handling family issues is commendable especially with the way he handled the issue of his wife and daughter by explaining to her daughter the reasons behind his wife's anger is due to the trauma of childlessness.
Toyin Abraham and Emeka Ike, together created a chemistry that showcased the ups and downs of their marriage. There was an undeniable onscreen connection between them, making their performance incredibly engaging to watch.
Beyond their individual performance, Toyin and Emeka we're able to showcase the complexities of marriage and the challenges that come with it. They beautifully depicted the struggles, sacrifices, and love that define a marital relationship.
In conclusion, "Malaika", is an exceptional movie that portrayed the African society and the misunderstanding of childlessness that women go through. Both Toyin and Emeka brought their charactes to life, allowing the audience to connect and empathise with them.

Show them engaging in respectful and open conversation even during disagreement, to emphasise their commitment to understanding and resolving issues.
2. Sense of humour. Injecting moments of humour into their characters can make them more relatable and endearing to the audience. Incorporate lighthearted banter or funny situations that display their ability to laugh together and find joy in their marriage during their difficult times.
3. Emotional support. They should be portrayed as emotionally supportive partners. They should listen attentively to each other's concerns and provide comfort and encouragement when needed, portraying a strong foundation of trust and empathy.
4. Love and compassion. They should be depicted as couple who deeply love and care for each other. Display of affectionate gestures such as holding hands, hugging and exchanging love glances to show their strong bond.
