In a remarkable display of compassion and grassroots empowerment, the Mairiga Charity Foundation, under the leadership of Hajiya Fatima Umar Gwamnaty Mairiga, the Yobe South (Zone B) Zonal Women Leader, has distributed ₦50,000 cash and food items to 500 beneficiaries drawn from all 17 local government areas of Yobe State.

The outreach program, designed to cushion economic hardship and promote social welfare, has been widely commended by residents, community leaders, and women's groups across the state. Beneficiaries described the initiative as timely, impactful, and deeply humane, reflecting true leadership that connects with the people at the grassroots.

“Hajiya Fatima Mairiga is a shining example of empathy and service,” said one community elder in Fika. “At a time when many families are struggling, her initiative brings relief, hope, and renewed faith in humanity.”

The foundation’s empowerment program included financial assistance to small-scale traders, widows, and vulnerable women, alongside essential food support to improve household wellbeing. 500 beneficiaries received ₦50,000, and the remaining 500 received assorted food items to support their families.

Hajiya Fatima Umar Gwamnaty Mairiga emphasized that the gesture aligns with her commitment to improving lives and complementing the efforts of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration in promoting social inclusion and poverty alleviation.

“This initiative is not just charity—it’s a call to compassion and collective responsibility,” she said. “We are committed to standing with our people, especially women and the less privileged, to build a stronger and more supportive Yobe.”

Her humanitarian effort has sparked widespread appreciation across Yobe, with citizens praising her for leading by example and inspiring a culture of kindness and empowerment.

“Mairiga’s effort goes beyond politics; it’s about humanity,” said a women’s leader from Nangere. “She has proven that leadership is service, not status.”

The Mairiga Charity Foundation continues to be a symbol of hope and empowerment, bringing tangible impact to communities across Yobe State through sustainable interventions and unwavering compassion.

With this latest gesture, Hajiya Fatima Umar Gwamnaty Mairiga cements her place as one of Yobe’s most admired women leaders—a beacon of generosity, purpose, and progress.
