…If you love me,
love me when the camera is off.
Love me when the make up is off.
Love me when the money is low,
and the mood is lower.
Do not just like my shine.
Stand with me in my shadow.
Because it is easy to like a picture,
it is harder to love a person.
It is easy to post happy birthday,
it is harder to be present in a breakdown.
We have confused visibility with value.
If they see it, we think it is real.
But some of the realest love stories
never trend.
Check your circle.
Are they fans or family?
Are they spectators or supporters?
Do they like your success,
or love your soul?
Some of us are addicted to being admired,
but terrified of being known.
To be known is risky,
because you cannot edit reality.
You cannot crop character.
You cannot filter flaws.
But that is where love lives,
it's not in the caption,
but in the consistency.
Love is calling when you said you would.
Love is staying when it is not convenient.
Love is choosing one person
when options are plenty.
Love is not public performance.
It is private perseverance.
And if we are honest,
many of us do not want love.
We want applause.
But applause fades,
and love remains.
So today, I submit this article,
signed in the ink of knowledge,
Probably I can lay claim to little experience too.
