Title: LOVE IN THE CITY OF LAGOS.
Episode 2: A Chance Encounter
Julius, dressed in a tailored suit, arrived at the trendy coffee shop, feeling confident about his upcoming meeting with a potential client. He was about to secure a major deal for his marketing firm and was mentally preparing his presentation.
Josephine, on the other hand, rushed into the coffee shop, juggling her bag, portfolio, and a nervous energy. She was heading to a job interview at a prestigious design firm and wanted a quick caffeine boost before facing the interview panel.
As Julius waited in line, he failed to notice Josephine standing beside him, lost in her own thoughts. Suddenly, he turned around, and his elbow accidentally knocked over Josephine's cup, spilling scalding coffee all over her crisp white shirt.
"Oh no, I'm so sorry!" Julius exclaimed, mortified, as he grabbed a handful of napkins to help Josephine clean the mess.
Josephine glared at him, her expression a mix of annoyance, embarrassment, and shock. Her eyes widened in disbelief, and her cheeks flushed with anger. "Watch where you're going, okay?" she snapped, trying to hide her growing frustration.
As they exchanged a brief, awkward conversation, Julius couldn't help but notice Josephine's striking features - her bright brown eyes, smooth dark skin, and vibrant smile (even if it was hidden behind a scowl). He felt an unexpected jolt of attraction but quickly pushed it aside, focusing on the task at hand.
Josephine, on the other hand, was taken aback by Julius's apologetic demeanor and chiseled good looks. She couldn't deny the spark she felt when their eyes met, but her irritation and embarrassment took center stage.
Just then, Julius's phone buzzed, signaling the arrival of his client. "I'm so sorry again, I have to run," he said, handing Josephine his business card. "Please, let me make it up to you. Grab a coffee on me, and maybe we can catch up another time?"
Josephine raised an eyebrow, skeptical but intrigued. "Maybe," she said, tucking the card into her bag.
As they parted ways, Julius's client, Rachel, approached him. "Hey, Julius, what's going on?" she asked, eyeing Josephine's retreating back.
"Just a little accident," Julius replied, still distracted by the encounter. "But let's focus on the meeting. I have a great proposal for you."
Meanwhile, Josephine rushed out of the coffee shop, her heart racing from the unexpected encounter. She couldn't shake off the feeling that her life had just intersected with someone significant. Little did she know, their chance encounter was only the beginning...
To be continued...
