LOVE BENEATH THE RAIN

You came as an umbrella that shielded me from the rain,
The sunshine that dried away my tears.
You took the pain just to make me happy,
And walked with me through every trial.
You gave me the strength not to give up,
You were my pathway to Tao.
Our love was hidden —
Destined to turn to smoke when exposed.
Even if fate stood against us,
I only hope to live in your memory
As you walk through Tao —
That alone is the happiness I desire.
Poet’s Note:
Love Beneath the Rain speaks of a love that bloomed quietly in the storm — tender yet fragile, pure yet forbidden. It is the story of two souls who found light in each other’s presence, even when fate refused to let them stand in the open. The poem explores love as both shelter and sacrifice — a bond strong enough to guide one toward peace (Tao), yet delicate enough to fade like smoke when revealed. In the end, it is not possession that defines love, but remembrance — living on in someone’s heart long after the rain has stopped.
