BREAKING NEWS...

In a significant move for Nigeria's tourism industry, Hon. AMB. Daniel Asama Ago, the Deputy House Committee Chairman on Tourism and Member representing the Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency, has introduced two pivotal Establishment Bills aimed at enhancing the regulatory framework of the sector.

The first bill, titled the Chartered Institute for Tourism and Hospitality of Nigeria (Establishment) Bill, 2025 (HB.2009), and the second, the Council for the Regulation of Travel and Tour Management Companies of Nigeria (Establishment) Bill, 2025 (HB.2008), have successfully undergone their First Reading at the National Assembly.

These proposed legislations are designed to create a robust legal structure that will oversee the increasingly diverse activities within the Tourism and Hospitality Sector. By addressing existing regulatory gaps, the bills aim to introduce essential standards and best practices that will empower stakeholders and elevate professional competence across the industry.

Once these bills receive approval from both the National Assembly and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, they are expected to revolutionize the tourism sector, promoting sustainable development and significantly contributing to Nigeria's economic diversification and growth.

Hon. Asama’s legislative efforts reflect his commitment to revitalizing Plateau State, renowned as the "Home of Peace and Tourism." His vision is to reposition the state as a key player in the national tourism landscape, ultimately benefiting both the local economy and the broader Nigerian tourism sector.
