A former presidential aide, Laolu Akande has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC for rejecting a petition to recall Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

It will be recalled that the electoral umpire had rejected a petition to recall Natasha, who represents Kogi Central, citing constitutional inadequacies, stating that no further action will be taken over the recall process.

However, while reacting to the decision during a television show today, Akande stated that the commission deserves some commendation for sticking to the laws of the land and rejecting the petition.

He explained that the commission only enforced the provisions of the law in rejecting the move, describing it as a victory for constitutionalism.

According to him, by this singular action, the electoral commission has increased its rating among Nigerians.

Yeah, sticking to the law always makes sense. Hope everything goes smoothly for INEC.

It's interesting how he's commended INEC for their adherence to the law. I can see how that victory for constitutionalism is a positive step towards maintaining order.
