JUST FRIENDS

One sunny day, the weather a little bit scorchy,
In my favorite t-shirt, feeling comfy,
Taking a walk down the neighborhood,
Engrossed in my thought.

I heard him called, "Hello señorita!"
Looked back saw this fine ass nigga,
"How may I help you,?" I almost stuttered,
"A minute of your time?" But I only saw his smile.

Weeks gone by, I'm tripping,
He talks so well, my heart be skipping,
Hours long call daily, what am I doing?
Could get lost in his vibes, Lord help me.

'Do you have a boyfriend? What sort of man do you like? '
He's been asking lately.
I'd rather not talk about men but I'll answer since you asked nicely.
Somewhere in my mind, I prayed 'Don't let him ruin this'.

Hanging out with him is a blessing,
I have to say He is a lovable person.
Then one fateful day he asked, "will you be my girlfriend?"

Hard too keep a friend, this sucks.
He should never have asked, now I'll need to ghost him.
Why did he have to ruin it,
Couldn't we be just be friends?
