Hello Lagos,
Let's talk a little about you.
The City of Lagos domiciled in the Western part pf Nigeria in history and recent times has gained the attention of West Africa and other counties by extension, for its amazing features, climate, tourist centres, vibrant city life and economy.
There are various important landmarks spread across this vibrant city. Let's look at some of them:
1. The Lagos Island
Lagos Island contains a central business district with lots of skyscrapers. The presence of large marketplace like the Idumota and Balogun markets all bustling both day and night.
The National Museum of Nigeria, the Central Mosque, the Glover Memorial Hall, Christ’s Church Cathedral (CMS), and the Oba Palace are also domiciled on this Island. Some important cities in Lagos Island include: Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Eko Atlantic City, and Iddo. All these cities are giant economic and tourist hubs in the vibrant city of Lagos
2. Lagos Economy
With the presence of many companies, high-rise buildings erected in this vibrant city owned by the headquarters of many commercial banks, financial institutions, and major corporations, Lagos state is the hub of Nigeria's economy and is solely responsible for about 50% or more of Nigeria's GDP.
It's location bordering the athlantic, strategically positions it. The Port of Lagos comprised of three sub-sections namely, Lagos Port, Apapa port and Tin can port are the most busiest spots in the city.
Interestingly it is Nigeria’s leading port and one of the largest and busiest in Africa. These ports solely import and export two-third of the products like crude oil and other raw materials.
3. Toursim in Lagos State
Under the administration of one of its former governors, Akinwunmi Ambode, Lagos State experienced significant modernization of its structures making it a tourist attraction site despite its population and business inclinations.
Lagos has a number of sandy beaches by the Atlantic Ocean a few are Badagry beach, Eleko beach, Elegushi, Alpha beach. Two of the popular beaches include Bar Beach and Lekki Beach. Lagos also has a variety of hotels ranging from three star to five star hotels.
