The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB has announced a remittance of over 6 billion naira to the coffers of the Nigerian government in 2024.
According to the board’s weekly bulletin released by its Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB generated a total income of 22 billion naira in 2024.
Additionally, the board noted that the reduction of N1,500 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination form fees for candidates, multiplied by the number of beneficiaries, increased the effective remittance to 9 billion naira.
The board also said the remittance formed part of its operating surplus following the successful conduct of the 2024 UTME.
The board also said it had contributed over 50 billion naira to the national treasury over the past seven years under the leadership of its Registrar, Is-haq Oloyede.
