I've used GBE quite a bit over the years, mostly for regional travel to Johannesburg and connecting to long-haul flights. One thing that doesn't get mentioned enough is how calm the airport feels compared to bigger hubs. I remember arriving back from a hectic trip to Lagos and stepping into the arrivals hall at SSKIA felt like a relief. The passport control lines move fast, and the baggage claim usually has your bags out within 15 minutes unless you're unlucky with a late flight.

That said, if you're flying out, don't bank on the shops for much. There's one decent duty-free and a small cafe, but the selection is limited. I've learned to bring my own snacks and a water bottle to fill after security. Also, the parking situation is solid. The long-term lot is well-lit and affordable, something like 30 pula per day last I checked, and it's a short walk to the terminal. No need for those pricey ride shares unless you're running late.

For anyone connecting through to other parts of Botswana, the domestic terminal is attached, so it's easy to walk over. Just give yourself an extra 15 minutes to navigate because the signs are not the best. Overall, it's a no-fuss airport that does its job well, but you have to lower your expectations for shopping and dining.
