I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO HAVE A GUN

I've always wanted to own a G*un since I was like 15 years old.

I mean gosh, the toxic aesthetic attached to that beaut of a weapon always has me overwhelmed.

I see people aiming at their targets and I'm always smiling, watching them thinking and wishing that I had my own G*un.
one I could wield, use, own and play with.

I even memorized several g*un names and various types and dedicated hours to playing games that had g*uns in them and it just felt
Surreal.

Sigh.....

I've always wanted to use a G*un until I was asked to hold the same weapon I had so much fantasized about and forced to aim it at my husband.

For the first time in my Life, I hated the weapon I held in my arms. It felt meaningless...

I was afraid of it, scared that just one bullet, could end the life of the man that I had lived with for over 15 years.

After everything we had been through, the ups and the downs, the struggles of life and the joys of it, how can everything just go like that in one bullet?

I don't think this people understand my predicament here, maybe I should voice my concerns.
That way they will see why I can't send my husband to his early grave in this undignified way.

"I can't kill him..."

The boss of the ring of gang members in our living room scoffed.

"Did I say that you had a choice?? Woman pull the godamm trigger and end this lowlife of a Man."

I tried talking but he cut me short

" What I want to say is ..."

"Don't say anything,He stole all your money, and borrowed from us using you people's house as collateral only for us to find out that the house isn't even enough to pay up what he borrowed, if I were in your shoes, I would pull that trigger cause you and your children are practically homeless because of him. "

I sighed.
Thank God my children are still in heaven and haven't landed on earth yet. It would have been chaotic enough. For the first time since I married him, I thanked God silently for being barren.
Well .

In case y'all are wondering why a gangster or presumed armed robber is speaking such clean English, let me do a brief introduction.

" His name is Tayo and he happens to be my Husband's older cousin, who actually made it to year one in the university, before deciding to drop education and chase money instead and by money I meant bastard money, castrated money and blood money and gradually he immediately became the biggest loan shark in our area, who knew how to give you the money that you cannot pay back except with blood."

Now you guys can paint the picture in your heads.

Obviously he had raided our house and thought we hid our children in a friend's place. I wonder who told him that we had a child...
Well ...

Where was I?

Oh yes I was about to explain myself.

"I was trying to say that I cannot kill my husband with just a gun."

Tayo and his boys who were about six then looked at me in confusion, the two that had held my husband down to the ground were surprised but my Husband's face, it was the one that got me the most, it was so priceless.

It was filled with dread and shock .

I continued.
" I want to use that Knife in your hands instead, it should be a slow and painful death, This man can't leave me on earth to suffer while he is safely sent to hell with one bullet"

Tayo laughed.

" I want him to see the gates of hell here on earth before he lands to the mainland of fire and meet his Master Satan."

This time My husband screamed and started to call me a witch.

It was funny cause a demon calling a person a witch with so much fear in his eyes was flattering.

I decided to remind him why he deserved a slow and painful death, I mean isn't that why I am his wife? To be his bank of forgotten memories and secrets that he felt I didn't know.

"Remember Folake? She was only 11 years old, you think I don't know why she left our house? You think I don't know what you did to her?"

My husband mumbled his words this time.
"I have no idea what you are talking about?"

I smiled.
"Okay let's bring something with a closer date, I caught you with Blessing favour our neighbor, two nights ago though, when you brought up an unreasonable quarrel with me and stormed out of the house like a man that had a place to go, I saw how she took your member in her mouth and you were praising her skills."

I blinked.

"I remember vividly because it was at the back of our house, fence, In the bush there,I mean you've always loved the thrill of being caught, it's why your escapades have been sloppy."

He yelled now.
"What are you saying?!! I never did such a thing!"

In an exasperated gesture I stretched out my hands to Tayo who gives me the steel butcher knife he was holding .

" Exactly, you have done so many atrocities that you can't even remember any, that's why Hell is the perfect place for you, I hear all your memories come to life there."

He starts yelling but they gag him with a cloth to shut him up.

Tayo Laughed and laughed so loud.

" I like this woman, she should join our gang"

Wow, this story is absolutely gripping. The raw tension, the dark humor, and the layers of betrayal—it all pulls you in and keeps you on edge. The narrator's sharp wit and calm under pressure, even in such a horrifying situation, make the story both chilling and fascinating. The twist of turning the tables on her husband while playing along with the gang’s expectations is just brilliant. You can feel her pain, anger, and survival instincts all at once. This is such a powerful piece of storytelling—dark, complex, and unforgettable. Well done!
