I've actually been involved with the Lobatse Sports Complex from a different angle that might surprise people. I volunteer as a coach for the junior netball league that runs there every Saturday morning. The courts aren't perfect the surface has some cracks and the lines fade quickly after rain but the energy those girls bring makes up for everything. What I've noticed is that the complex really comes alive between 7am and 10am on weekends. That's when the community shows up not just for sports but for the informal meet ups. Parents bring coolers, kids play on the grass patches, and some of the older folks set up chairs near the pavilion just to watch and chat.

One practical thing I'd point out the public restrooms are often locked or out of order, so plan accordingly if you're going to be there for a few hours. The parking lot can also get busy during big events, but there's space along the side road if you arrive early. I wish the council would invest in better lighting for the evening games, because the floodlights are hit or miss. Still, for the price free to spectators and minimal fees for participants it's a gem. Yes! The early morning vibe there is honestly unmatched. I've only been a handful of times but that 7-10 window you're talking about... something about the dust and the cool air and everyone just hanging out feels like real community. My niece plays in that netball league actually, she's obsessed. The cracks in the court stress her out when she's running though lol.
