Islamic Scholar Salihu Zaria Praises Gov. Buni’s Humility, Prays for Yobe’s Continued Peace and God-Fearing Leadership

Respected Islamic scholar Abubakar Salihu Zaria has commended the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, for his humility and respectful disposition toward religious leaders, describing the gesture as a reflection of people-centered and inclusive leadership.
The commendation followed a courtesy visit by Ustaz Salihu Zaria to the Government House in Damaturu, during which he was warmly received by the governor. The cleric clarified that the visit was not by invitation of the state government but a goodwill interaction while he was in Yobe State for Ramadan religious engagements.
In a message shared on his official Facebook page, the scholar expressed appreciation for the honor and respect shown to him, noting that such conduct strengthens trust between leadership and the religious community.
“Alhamdulillah, we paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Yobe State, who received us with dignity and respect. May Allah reward him with goodness,” he wrote.
Ustaz Salihu Zaria also offered prayers for Yobe State, asking Allah to continue blessing the state with courageous, compassionate, and God-fearing leaders. He further prayed that anyone with intentions to oppress the people or misuse power be kept far away from the governorship of the state.
The visit and the scholar’s remarks have been widely viewed as reinforcing the importance of mutual respect between political leadership and religious figures, as well as Gov. Buni’s reputation for humility, openness, and commitment to peace and unity in Yobe State.
