Is TB a poor man's disease?

As we know that the transmission of the bacteria causing tuberculosis, Mycobacterium tuberculosis is through aerosols i.e can be carried in the air and when inhaled by another individual, infection takes place.
Crowded and poorly ventilated living and working environments often associated with poverty constitute direct risk factors for tuberculosis transmission. Undernutrition is an important risk factor for developing active disease.
So, it's safe to say poverty isn't a "poor man's disease" but they are at high risk of being infected.
