Happy International Women’s Day. I am making a shoutout to my mum and sisters. These women have been a blessing to me from when I came into this world till this date. We fight a lot, argue and sometimes wouldn’t want to talk to each other, but the bond between us, our love or each other brings us back to each other, forgetting all that was said. Happy Women’s Day to my favorite women and I pray GOD continues to bless you all. I love you 😊

I am celebrating my mum and girlfriend for the Women’s Day celebration. My mum has been I and my little brothers backbone right from time. She has never ever complained about anything or made us feel bad for being born to the world, despite what our dad did to her. She never put the anger on us or blame us for being born. My mum supported us through hard times. She had to take up different jobs to get by and would go through any length [legally] to make sure we are okay and have the best of everything.

I remember wanting to drop out from university when things were too much, so I can support her and my brothers but she advised against it. She told me GOD had helped her to train us till this age and when we are at this level, we should give up. I had just one more year to finish school and I am glad I listened to her.

Today, I can buy her anything she pleases, give her all she wants and she can fully enjoy all the goodies she deserves. Mummy, I love you and I will never forget all you did for me and my brothers. You will continue to live long to eat the fruit of your labor. I love you mum.

Also, my babe, Janet. I bless GOD for her, she’s just so perfect and she also helped me through a difficult heartbreak that almost made me had a carryover. Na because say I love too much, lol. Janet, I love you and *whispers* I will propose to her this evening after our family dinner 😉

Hi, I am celebrating my older sister for Women’s Day. She’s a strong lady, hardworking, resilient, persistent, kind-hearted, beautiful and all things good. She has always been there since our parents left us to have their individual families in wherever they are now. They left us when we were barely teenagers and to make matter worse, neither of their families ‘our so-called extended families’ offered to help. Even when we went to them for help, they looked away from us.

But my sister, Kate. She stopped going to school and started selling some of her artwork she colored in primary school till junior school. I knew some of those uncles that bought her arts, were cheating her but she didn’t care, she just wanted us to have something to survive with.

I have sickle cell and she have to take that burden with her too. My medication and any health scare I have, she takes it up too. Omo, I don’t think I am explaining how serious and hard it was for the both of us. Especially her. She sent me to school, never wanted me to miss anything, neglecting her needs but just focused on giving me the best. She’s not just my sister but my mother.

I love Kate till my last breath. GOD truly blessed me. I have about two more years till I finish university and I recently got a paid internship that I can use to support her also. I advised that she went back to school but she told me she wants to continue to pursue her arts which I am happy for because she’s really talented at it.

Now, she’s getting married to a very nice man and I am so glad for her *sniffles* I am so happy but at the same time, I feel like she’s being taken from me. She’s my rock and everything and she’s all I have. *sniffles* I know I will still see her but, it will be different. *Cleans eyes and sniffles* but I am happy that he’s a great man who loves and cherish her and I am assured he will take care of her.

Happy Women’s Day Kate. GOD bless you.

Hi, I am Gold and I am celebrating my mum and little sister. GOD, what can I say. I have no words to explain how deeply grateful I am for having my mum in my life. GOD is so good to me. My mum has been there for me always. She’ll always say ‘it is GOD’ but if she didn’t make the choice to be there for us, who would? Our dad was never there but she stood by us firmly with the help of GOD. She advises us, take good care of us and she’s a great woman.

It’s not just us she’s motherly to, she has lots of godchildren who she loves and treat equally. My mum would always tell us stories to encourage us to be the better version of ourselves, improve in our daily lives and skills, our walk with GOD and tell us to always place value on ourselves because that is one of our biggest virtues as a person. I bless GOD for her every day of my life

Also, my little sister. Our last born. We have these petty quarrels almost all the time but it’s love. She’s a great girl, friendly when you get to know her, has a good sense of humor, highly intelligent like our mum and smart also. She’s also a ‘no nonsense’ person. My little sister would bounce off ideas with me for my novels, tell me what’s missing and making sense. She proofreads our works so well and would give feedback accurately and detailed. She wouldn’t sugarcoat her words while giving feedback and would say it as it is but in a nice and welcoming manner. She’s the best.

I pray GOD continue to bless and protect my mum and baby sister. Happy Women’s Day to the both of them. I am also celebrating myself. I am blessed to be a woman and I’m proud of myself and how far I have come in my journey as a writer.

Happy Women’s Day to us and all women out there. you rock 😊
