INTERLUDE (Wildwood)
Evil is a hydra, with tentacles so grand
In Nigeria's halls of power, it takes its stand
A beast of corruption, with roots so deep
Feeding on the nation's wealth, while the people weep
I'm just a bard, a minstrel of muse
Doomed to walk the streets, where corruption produces
A trail of broken dreams, and promises unkept
As those in power, their greed and lusts have stepped
From Abuja's corridors, to Lagos' streets
The stench of corruption, our senses greets
In every deal, a bribe is paid
Justice is a luxury, the poor cannot sway
Oh, Yakubu, the clown, with a smile so wide
But beneath the paint, a heart full of pride
For the loot he's gathered, from the nation's till
Leaving the masses, with a pittance to fill
Chioma and Kelechi, they thought they could change
But the system's too strong, their efforts in vain
Femi, the man with a heart so bold
But the corrupt machine, his spirit will unfold
Ade, the man who knows sin, with a heart of gold
But even he, cannot escape the corrupt fold
Obinna from the Abattoir, with secrets untold
And Adaora, a victim, of the system's cold
Kemi, a child, with a future so bright
But the darkness of corruption, her light will ignite
The Wildwood of corruption, a forest so dense
Where the corrupt roam free, with no consequence
So we'll follow the trail, of this twisted tale
Where corruption's the game, and the people fail
For in Nigeria's Wildwood, evil reigns supreme
And the people suffer, beneath the corrupt regime
As the hydra's heads multiply, and the beast grows strong
The people's hope is dwindling, their future unsure and wrong
But still we hold on, to the light of what's right
And pray for a dawn, when corruption takes flight.
