Intelligent Apes or god? The case for Human gods.

Science will find out again and again that humans are more than just walking talking apes, it will find out that we are indeed gods. The distance between the most intelligent nearest relative to humans is bigger than the distance between that said relative has to the most basic form of life-that would be a proto virus. This is so unfathomable to human mind and that is why in every of our folklore and tales the world building usually contains a race of creatures; Orks or goblins who seem to have rudimentary intelligence to have a civilization like humans, but their civilization is always crude showing that they are less intelligent than their humans counterpart.
The storytellers find it easy to comprehend that humans are the most intelligent ( and sometimes they don't), but hard to accept that there is no race that could at least have something resembling the depth of our intelligence. So they invent races like the Orks and goblins because in a perfect world with evolution humans can't literally be the only Creature to be capable of building civilations.
But in the real world? This has been proven again and again the most intelligent of all animals can't match a 7 year old human for intelligence. They can't build a civilization no matter how long you give them. Humans have not used half of the years that many of this intelligent animals have and yet we have built a civilization that will affect the earth long after we leave ( if we leave). We have brought the earth under heel,we have spread to every continent, examined every land, mined every ore, fashioned gigantic buildings made of stone, built giant machines, studied almost every creature whether on land or sea, domesticated some and are actively interfering in the life of others. And what is the most intelligent animal capable of? What can the Octopus do? it can remember your face and solve a puzzle-Pitiful.
