The impact the use of technology has on mental health varies with both the positive and negative factors. But on a greater deal, it's negative impact are often common;
1. Increased stress and anxiety from constant connectivity: Being constantly connected to technology can lead to feelings of stress and anxiety, as people may feel pressure to respond to messages and notifications immediately. This can cause burnout and overwhelm.
2. Sleep problems from screen time before bed: The blue light emitted by screens can disrupt our circadian rhythms, making it harder to fall asleep. And the stimulating content we consume on screens can keep our brains alert, making it difficult to wind down at night.
3. Compulsive use of technology: Technology can be addictive, and people may find themselves compulsively checking their devices or scrolling through social media feeds. This can take up valuable time that could be spent on more productive or relaxing activities.
4. Less face-to-face interaction with others: As we spend more time on our devices, we may spend less time interacting with people in person. This can lead to loneliness and a feeling of disconnection from others.
5. More exposure to misinformation and cyberbullying: Social media platforms can be breeding grounds for misinformation and cyberbullying. People may be exposed to false or harmful information that can affect their mental health. And cyberbullying can lead to depression, anxiety, and even thoughts of self-harm.
Note: On the one hand, technology can provide us with valuable information, help us connect with others, and provide us with entertainment. But on the other hand, it can also lead to stress, anxiety, and feelings of isolation.
It's important to be mindful of how much time we spend on technology and how it affects our mental health. If we feel like it's having a negative impact, it's important to take steps to reduce our screen time and prioritize other activities that make us feel
