I totally get this. I've been writing for about two years now, and organization was my biggest hurdle for the first six months. What finally clicked for me was treating my writing like a physical workspace instead of a mental one.
I started using a simple "folder system" in Google Docs. I have one folder called "Drafts" where I dump every raw idea, half-finished paragraph, or messy brainstorm. Another folder called "Working" holds pieces I'm actively polishing. And a third called "Published" for anything finished. It sounds basic, but it stopped me from losing track of things and feeling overwhelmed.
As for difficulty, the biggest one for me was writer's block from perfectionism. I used to stare at a blank page trying to make the first sentence perfect. Now I give myself permission to write total garbage in a separate doc first. Just vomit words onto the page. Then I copy the good parts over and clean them up. It takes the pressure off and gets the flow going.
If you're struggling with structure, try outlining backwards. Write the piece first, then highlight the key points and move them into an outline after. It sounds weird, but it helps you see patterns in how you naturally organize ideas. I do that for opinion pieces especially.
One other thing that helped me improve: reading my work out loud before posting. Catches clunky sentences you'd miss on screen.
