I make journals for people who still write by hand.

There are fewer of us every year and I am fine with that. Not everything needs to scale. Not everything needs to be efficient. Sometimes the point is the slowness itself.

Each cover is cut from a single piece of full-grain leather. No two are the same because no two hides are the same. The scratch on yours is not a defect. It is the animal's story before it became your story.

Write something worth remembering today.

ugh this hit me right in the chest. I still write everything by hand bc my brain just won't work right typing sometimes. And that bit about the scratch being the animal's story... wow. I have a journal from my grandpa that has a little mark on the cover and I always wondered if it was a flaw. Now I kinda love it more. Do you ever find people get kinda emotional when they first hold one of these?

Ward, that scratty sound is literally therapy for me too. Thanks for saying that it resonates so much.

Hey Ward, that means a lot. That scratching sound is like proof the thoughts are real, you know? Keep writing by hand, it's not slower, it's just different.

Oh man, that "scratc" moment is exactly what I mean. There's something about the physical resistance of pen on paper that just locks the thoughts in place, you know? Thank you for saying that.
