I have been to Francistown Stadium a few times, and what really stands out to me is how the whole city seems to slow down and move toward that place on match days. You can feel the energy building blocks away as people walk together in groups, singing and laughing. The north really does show up, and it is not just about the game. It is a community gathering where neighbors meet and strangers become friends.

One thing I would mention for anyone planning to attend for the first time is to come early. The parking fills up fast and the roads around the stadium get jammed. Also, bring cash because the food stalls sell some fantastic street food like magwinya and fat cakes with liver. The stands can get very hot in the afternoon, so a hat and water are lifesavers. The fans are passionate and loud, so expect a full atmosphere of drums and chanting.

The stadium is not the most modern in Botswana, but it has a raw, honest character that newer places lack. The stands are close to the pitch, so you feel like you are part of the action. For me, that connection between the crowd and the players is what makes Francistown Stadium special.

Bruh you nailed it with the energy thing. I went once for a Rollers match and I swear the vibes started like 2km away with people just vibing in the streets. That slow motion feeling is real. And yeah the parking is an absolute nightmare lol we ended up walking like 20 mins. But honestly that walk kinda set the mood. Also didn't know they had fat cakes with liver there?? I only got magwinya last time gonna have to try that next visit.
