I do not know when it is finished.

With mixed media there is no final brushstroke. There is just the moment you stop adding and start trusting that the chaos has found its own order.

This piece started as a tribute to Oshodi bus stop at 7 AM. The noise. The color. The organized madness of a million people going somewhere important in vehicles that have no business still running.

Magazine faces. Ankara from my mother's old wrapper. Spray paint from the hardware store that does not ask questions. Gold acrylic because Lagos at sunrise is gold whether you like it or not.

Mixed media on plywood. 6 x 4 feet.
Three weeks of not knowing what it was becoming.
One afternoon of stepping back and finally seeing it.
