The executive chairman of Potiskum local government area Hon. Salisu Muktari restored and revived the old abandoned local government secretariat to improve the activities of some ministries and agencies in the local government area.
The restoration of the secretariat will help in the development of management systems in many areas of the local government because it will provide many ministries and agencies with a personal shelter and the flow of security along with the development of the economy of the local government area.
Revival of this secretariat It is part of the chairman's proposal to revive government assets, improve economic affairs, and give direct priority to the community, and this will help to improve the activities of the ministries and agencies under the local government.
Now the old secretariat that was abandoned for many years has been revived, where eight (8) ministries and agencies in the local government will have their centres there.
The ministries and agencies that will work after the revival of the old secretariat are included:
1. Ministry for local government and chieftaincy affairs (Zonal office Potiskum)
2. Yobe State Arabic and Islamic Education Board
3. Nigerian Correctional Service
4. National Youth Services Corp (NYSC)
5. Nigeria Vigilante Group
6. Nigeria Hunters Group
7. Nigeria Peace Corps
8. Environmental and Sanitation Committee.
The rehabilitation of this secretariat will help greatly in the development of the economy, security, and improvement of the sectors that have found shelter in the newly reconstructed secretariat.
