The Executive Chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, has upgraded and converted Garin-Makwai borehole to solar-powered borehole to provide the residents with sufficient water.

Garin-Makwai is a village located 24 kilometers from Potiskum Central under Danchua Ward and is a village with a rich history and community.

The village had been facing water shortages for a long time after their borehole was damaged before the chairman ordered the borehole to be repaired and converted to solar powered.

The borehole has now been equipped with 12 solar panels to boost its performance and provide sufficient drinking water to the residents.

The community members praised and applauded the honorable chairman for this great work that he has done, which they confirmed is very important for their development and the stability of their society at large.

"We highly commend the honorable chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, for the repairs and upgrades of this borehole, as it is an important thing that we have been asking for for a long time.

"Before now, we have submitted our complaint seeking the repair of this borehole to several offices because the residents of the area all rely on it for clean drinking water and daily necessities, and we have lost our way only after submitting our complaint to the chairman who is currently implementing this project for us."
