The executive chairman of Potiskum local government area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, has relocated the military security personnel camp from the rest-house area to Lailai and renovated and rehabilitated the Mopol Division on Damaturu Road in Potiskum LGA.
The local government chairman did this to empower the security personnel and provide them with a place where they can carry out all their activities in peace and tranquillity to ensure the security of the people and their properties in Potiskum LGA.
The security forces were camped at a rest house on Kano Road, Potiskum local government area. Due to the Boko Haram insurgency that has wreaked havoc on the local government in recent years, the local government chairman took the decision to relocate them to Lailai to demoralise them and remove them from the community to a modern camp.
In the new camp he provided for them in Lailai, he provided them with a good water system and modern boreholes that use solar energy and efficient electricity that will greatly help them in providing security to the community in the local government.
As for the Mopol Division, the local government chairman also renovated and modernised it and also surrounded it with a wall with modern boreholes and electricity.
The Mopol Division had long been abandoned, but Hon. Salisu Muktari looked back at it to encourage the security forces to provide effective security to the community.
Providing security and a good health system is among the main things that Hon. Salisu Muktari has prioritised in his government.
