The executive chairman of Potiskum local government area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, has taken charge of repairing and evacuating drainages in Potiskum local government area.
This is an effort to prevent flooding by providing the local government area with good and efficient drainage so that the water can pass without posing a threat to residents of the local government area.
The chairman is committed to taking charge of such work every year when the rainy season breaks its head to ensure the safety of the community and prevent people from the threat of flooding.
"It is good that we take measures to protect ourselves from flooding because it is the biggest threat facing us as the rainy season is ahead.
"It is not a task that only the local government can take on; it is the responsibility of all of us and the good people of Potiskum LGA to solve the problem of flooding, which is our major problem as a whole in this Local Government Area." Said Hon. Salisu Muktari
