Hon. Salisu Muktari hosted a security council meeting following the expiration of the deadline given by the government to those who set up shops at the graveyard near the powerhouse in Potiskum LGA.
The government has warned against setting up temporary shops (containers) on the cemetery premises and prohibited the cutting of shops to ensure the safety of the public and the deceased lying in the cemetery.
The government has also issued a cease and desist order to all those who have set up shops and temporary containers on the cemetery premises, which pose a real threat to the lives and properties of the people living near the cemetery, as it is adjacent to the NEPA Power House.
During the meeting, the chairman discussed important matters with the officials and the instructions to follow the law and order to ensure that the right thing is done.
This is part of the government's commitment to ensuring that the community lives in order and equality that will not harm anyone.
