A people-centered approach to governance is yielding visible results in Potiskum LGA, where strategic road and bridge projects are currently under construction through strong collaboration between the state government, regional development partners, and the local council led by Hon. Salisu Muktari.

One of the most impactful interventions is the road and bridge project linking Rigar Fulani to Gombe Road, a long-neglected corridor that often became inaccessible during the rainy season.

The project is being facilitated by the Yobe State Government under the leadership of H.E. Hon. Mai Mala Buni, FCIA, CON, and is expected to end years of seasonal isolation, improve safety, and strengthen economic activity for surrounding communities.

Complementing this effort are other key road projects underway in Potiskum, facilitated by the North East Development Commission (NEDC). These include:

Tandari to Lailai and the route from Kara Primary School to Jigawa Mazga, both aimed at opening up underserved areas, improving access to markets and schools, and easing daily movement for residents.

At the grassroots level, Hon. Salisu Muktari has played a pivotal coordinating and advocacy role—ensuring community needs are clearly communicated and reflected in state and regional intervention programs. His leadership style emphasizes partnership, consultation, and fairness, ensuring that development reaches communities based on need rather than politics.

Together, the synergy between Gov. Buni’s inclusive development agenda and Hon. Salisu Muktari’s people-focused local leadership is translating policy into action.

As construction advances, residents are witnessing a clear demonstration of governance that works—connecting communities, restoring access, and laying strong foundations for sustainable growth across Potiskum.
