The executive chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, flags off NIPDs for April 2025 at Fika Emirates Palace in Potiskum Local Government Area.
The chairman called on the public and traditional rulers to fully support health workers in carrying out the activities of NIPDs in Potiskum LGA.
"I commend the health workers, our chiefs, and the good people of Potiskum Local Government Area for their dedication in protecting the community from the new epidemic that has emerged in Yobe State.
"I once again use this opportunity to call on the people of Potiskum Local Government Area, traditional rulers, and parents to fully support the health workers to ensure that this vaccination is completed safely.
"This is a response to the new disease that has emerged that is crippling young children and making them very sick. I call on parents to consider vaccination as a protection against diseases and to cooperate with our health workers." Said Hon. Salisu Muktari
The flags-off ceremony was attended by traditional rulers, representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO), representatives of SMC, the supervisor councilor of health, the coordinator of the primary health care board of Potiskum, and other health workers of the local government area.
The aim of this initiative is to mitigate the spread of the diseases for public health and to protect the vulnerable populations of the local government area.
