The Executive Chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, felicitates Yobe at 34 years and describes Governor Buni as one who achieved unparalleled achievements in health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure.
While celebrating, the chairman said Yobe is not just a state but a home for millions of people from different religions, tribes, and languages.
"Yobe State turns 34 today, 27th August, 2025. This is a matter of pride for us, the good people of Yobe State, because the creation of Yobe State is what brought us together to continue to maintain social stability in terms of interaction, governance, and politics as one.
"On a day like today, 27th August, 1991, Yobe State gained independence from the former Borno State as an independent state in terms of politics, religion, culture, and all forms of development activities, which is equivalent to the past 34 years.
"Yobe State is not only 34 years old and celebrating its 34th anniversary, but it is also celebrating thousands of achievements in various aspects of governance, politics, and the development of its people." Said Hon. Salisu Muktari.
He also called on the people of the state to continue to dedicate themselves to the development of the state, describing Governor Buni as a key figure in bringing about progressive reforms in the health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure sectors.
"It is imperative that we stand united and dedicated to the sustainable development and betterment of our people so that we can continue to succeed as a unified state with diverse communities from 17 local government areas under 178 political districts.
"Governor Buni has been a driving force in bringing about change and development in the health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure sectors because under him, the quality of agriculture, health, education, and modern infrastructure systems has been achieved in Yobe State." He added,
The chairman also assured that a bright future lies ahead if the people of the state continue to embrace the status of a unified state with a rich heritage.
